ID4 Party

after a chill afternoon i made it to Casey Storm's, also in Silverlake, for his 4th of July firework installation & dance party... during the 2 to 3 hours i was there, i'm pretty sure our gracious host changed outfits 3 or 4 times; the one with the "star hat" is my favourite! the eclectic crowd included mostly artists whose talent & humility i admire - Mike Mills, Miranda July, KK Barrett & many more... then there was this really drunk girl who just kept asking me to take more pictures of her. when i stopped, she kicked my hand so hard, my phone flew out in the air & crashed on the floor. while i was relieved to find my phone miraculously intact, the beautiful mess laughed hysterically... i'm just grateful i no longer have to suffer the kind of hangovers she surely got once she regained consciousness the following day! never once do i wake up wishing i had gotten fucked up the previous night!!! later, as i was waiting for my turn to use the bathroom, the door opened to reveal another classy lady reapplying lipstick in front of the mirror. as we stroke a conversation, i noticed a naked dude was with her. he pulled his pants up, grabbed his shirt on the floor & casually followed her out of the bathroom. now that's what i call a party... independence is a beautiful thing!!! god bless America, my home sweet home...
