since March, fans were asked to contribute dance moves, lyrics and crowd reactions to the video via a dedicated website. using a split-screen template, fans uploaded their clips at the exact moment that move, lyric or reaction occurred in the video. together, all of these fan-sourced snippets were woven into one, cohesive video. in this way, Michael Jackson reminds us once again - You Are Not Alone!

it's a privilege for me to be part of the radical team, leading the way on multiple platforms, especially with non-traditional & interactive projects — see Chris Milk for instance... although Behind The Mask isn't interactive in the way that it requires a lot of clicking to view, it drew many participants together & pushes boundaries. “In terms of the tech aspect of it, I think the goal is to have interesting content that’s really watchable. You need to view it multiple times in order to see everything.
