the party + papas burrito + chicho's skin

mobile phone pix...
on Saturday evening Jenn & I cruised into the Hollywood Forever cemetery to our special parking spot (thanQ Mara!), laid a blanket on the lawn, & ate our picnic as the sun came down &
The Party came on above & under the stars! here are a few pix of this great spot:

Jenn & i had brunch at my favorite taco stand in Atwater Village: Tacos Villa Corona. a mother owns & runs the place with the help of her son & daughter, all extremely friendly. i've been going there for 10 years or more & i can't imagine LA without it. they make burritos the way they're suppose to be made -- with potatoes (not rice). i always order the papas burrito (potatoes, egg & salsa) and have them add spinach & bacon - i can't think of a better way to get the day started, especially after a late night out:

since Jenn is a recent New York transplant who had never been to
Elysian Park, before going to the cemetery, Chicho & i took her there for a hike, where we stumbled upon some chicks on stilts:

on Sunday morning i caught the nasty toxic smoke of Universal:

looks like some people will never work in this town again! fortunately the smoke didn't blow over Silver Lake & Echo Park, where Chicho & i spent the entire afternoon walking from one boutique to another, from a taco stand to a pupuseria, sharing my chorizo & carne with her...

Chicho has only been released from the vet 3 weeks ago after staying there for over 2 months, and already she needs to go back. looks like her skin is developing a new infection already. she has a 5:30 appointment with a another vet today, who will work on her pro-bono. her skin biopsy, skin treatment & strong meds for March & April ended up costing me whatever money i had saved up so far. yikes! so i'm extremely grateful for Chicho's caretaker Jennifer for keeping a close eye on Chicho's well being. i really hope we find a way for Chicho to heal once & for all.
