i've been listening to a lot of dubstep lately, which has retrograded to 2-step-garage all the way back to drum'n bass & grittier jungle... i'm looking back at the nineties AGAIN & AGAIN minus the MDMA, 2C-B & other mind altering stuff! who would have thought?! it's like i'm experiencing my twenties again, just stone cold sober this time... sobriety is hella trippy too!!!

i'm totally stoked that Hospital Records just released some of the best NEW drum'n bass (click on image above)... here are 2 kick ass pulls from the album; these MP3Z will be reposted as part of the playlist i'll share with everyone before month's end:

this is my favourite rotating sign in all of LA, on Sunset Blvd. in Silverlake. the urban myth is that you'll have a nice day if you first see Happy Foot when looking up, while all bets are off if you look up to see Sad Foot. when i make eye contact with Sad Foot's bloodshot eyes, i'm superstitious enough to pull over, wait for the sign to turn & catch Happy Foot's encouraging disposition... Happy Foot always makes me feel like everything is gonna be okay, and that LOVE IS GONNA BE ON MY SIDE!

ALL I WANT

click on image for another cool song... all i want is MORE!!! i rolled in the festival just in time for LCD Soundsystem's set, which i enjoyed safely backstage. shit, i remember when Coachella was an intimate affair. there's like an overwhelming 80,000 people there now, that's insane!!! not even the VIP section feels nice. this is how i see it - if my mother dearest wouldn't feel comfortable enough at the VIP section, then it's but a glorified special people section, which at Coachella looks like a congregation for chain smoking ed hardy douche bags... thankfully, i was offered a backstage pass at the 11th hour & everything was much better there. last time i got full access backstage & vip passes i swore i could never again go without! i think that was the year i went for the Pixies & by the time the Cure came on, the pure mdma flowing through my veins kicked in & there's not much else i could do but weep with overwhelming tears of joy to "Boys Don't Cry," or was i just sweating profusely?! anyhew, LCD Soundsystem rocked the main stage & the crowd went wild! it was so cute when James Murphy said "I'll only get to say this once in my life so... stick around for Jay-Z," which i did for a bit before coming right back to LA... for too long i just had to be there the whole time & i just had to be among the riff raff & i just had to see every single band, and i wasn't even "all there!" i don't have to live like that anymore... PHEW!!! i got my Coachella fix for the year in such a better way...
