nights turn into days...

i'm not so sure about the whole witch-house trend that CREEP (Lauren Flax and Lauren Dillard) is lumped in; it's all soooo last year, now & even then! but i like this song a lot, particularly Deadboy's remix... while her bandmate delivers some of the best remixes today, The xx‘s Romy Madley-Croft keeps on lending her breathy, gothy, lovelorn signature thing. with 808s & sickly synths, Flax and Dillard’s music has a less fucked-up sound than that of their peers, unlike most drag, it doesn’t drag, it has a real 4/4 momentum to it. if anything, CREEP puts the house in witch-house, while Deadboy keeps it fun & funky:

the track's new video was directed by the Fischer half of Fischerspooner:

let's reel it in with another exciting remix from Evil Nine; what Daft Punk does for robots, Evil Nine does for zombies! the industrial dancefloor vibe of this remix evokes another sound of my past days of glory -breakbeat- while keeping things modern enough for today's saturday night fever:

stomping electro drums, ‘80s Italian horror-movie synths, dirty punk basslines, punctuated by the amazing Róisín Murphy no less - WIN WIN!!! i'm such a fan of hers. with this fashion forward lady in mind, i'm compelled to turn to an unrelated new collection i dig - Thierry Mugler's latest:

did the man lay off the botox & roids long enough to think clearly again?! no longer able to squeeze into his own clothes, did he realize it was time to step aside?! in any case, that's what happened, and in the best possible way. pushing the Mugler mantle to new boundaries is Nicola Formichetti, the fashion house’s new creative director. here's my top 9:
