this monday i finally jumped right back in the whole "back to work" thing... dialing for dollars... same old same old... so i had to end this sunny "blue" monday with something light & fun, and i just threw in some tunes together. i dunno if it's the wearhouse action i had over the break or if i'm high on KOMBUCHA, but it's very, um, rave-y... lots of 90s sounds... oh well! it's not like i'm bringing back horrrrrrendous 90s baggy pants, nor am i pushing you to saturate your aging blood streams & brain vessels with MDMA or 2CB!
anyhew, i really dig "Time to pretend" at #6. i think my favorite here is Bitchee Bitchee Ya Ya Ya at #14. "Heartbroken" at #15 was my anthem last summer haha, but it was something too personal to include in one of my 2007 playlists & share. i know it was a dancefloor hit back then but it felt like MINE & no one else's at the time. Crystal Castles kick ass so i thought i'd throw in "Air War" considering my brother Eric will be headed to Afghanistan in a few; i'm glad he was able to spend some time in Miami over the break! and right before it Pilooski warms up the playlist... i warn ya, it gets pretty dancey/clubey/ravey... the last dancefloor must is In Flagranti's "Coquine" at #19 (that's "Mischievous" in French; not cocaine as it almost sounds like in english)... ok, well i had to end it with the voice of Weezer, Rivers Cuomo, at 23; i could listen to "Longtime Sunshine" over & over & over... and finally at 24, M.I.A.'s gunshot-free version of "Paper Planes." a world free of machine guns would be splendid. then again, you can't hunt down a juicy piece of meat for the grill with singing alone. i guess we need some guns. oh well, enjoy:

i hope everyone had a nice break for the holidaze! i was a hermit for the most part. i did tons of hiking with the pooch & caught up on movies, alone. i really love going to the movies alone. i didn't go out to more than 3 or 4 late night parties, the 1st one being a late late one in some wearhouse east downtown LA were DJ Harvey was spinning till the wee hours; i musta sweated all the 2007 toxins outta my body & made it back to my bed right as the sun was coming up... yikes! other than that, a few other ones... the funnest was with Cat around my birthday, in some other wearhouse in Eagle Rock, where i bumped into one of my all time favorite old school friends Rudy who was in town from San Diego. i'm back on the wagon but that night i had 3 bottles of Moët & Chandon Brut (Rosé Impérial) in the fridge, which happens to be Cat's favorite so, we brought some to the the dancefloor with us... the big black friendly bouncer let us in for free & with the champagne. Dani, Dounia, and a bunch of old school USC friends were there. it was so nice to randomly find them on a cozy dancefloor! i missed the rose bowl but i'm glad "we" won and that minnesota or michigan or arkansas or wherever the others came from lost in our home turf haha. i also had to catch up with the family reunited in Miami, lots of chit chatting & stuff...
