i love each & everyone of these tracks. with spring upon us, i couldn't think of a gayer thing to do than to open with the only Judy Garland song i have. most of the other tunes are very new. following the 2 remixes of Crookers featuring Róisín Murphy (original posted here), i had to play the 90s anthem that made her famous as part of Moloko - Sing It Back! as for Capetonians Die Antwoord, go back here to see some crazy clips of them in action. alright, enough blabbering about the music! the credit list is accurate so you can google the featured artists all on your own & find out more...

a friend recently shared this amazing montage of Mick Jagger (from the 60s) eying the legendary Dianne Brill, muse of Andy Warhol who, back in the 80s, crowned her Queen of the Night:

Dianne Brill designed clothes for the Stones, Prince & Duran Duran; she also was a runway model for Thierry Mugler, Jean-Paul Gaultier & Vivienne Westwood. now a mother of 3, her line of luxury cosmetics & beauty products can be found at Harvey Nicks among other fine stores.

by the way, the picture at the top is of a stunning bikini-clad
Veruschka in the 60s, back when models were models...

...her series of self-portraits is epic!

closer to home, E.P.I.C.'s grand opening celebration is this friday. EPIC, which stands for Echo Park Independent Co-op, features 40+ local designers i love. i got a chance to swing by & preview the large space today; here are my pics (more to come):

supporting original local designers (established & emerging) is so much better for the community & our environment. while putting the finishing touches for the opening, co-founders/owners Tristan & Rhianon greeted me minutes after Million Trees planted a tree indigenous to Southern California on the sidewalk by their front door. this baby tree is the only healthy looking one on their stretch of Sunset Boulevard, a good omen... check this cool article for details.

bottom line is shop epic, because as the late Corey Haim wisely put it in 1989, "You are what you wear & I wear something different everyday!" may this lost boy rest in peace...

shopping aside, get FINGERED later on this friday:

Ryan Heffington's gatherings are an inspirational blast: dance class at 10:30 pm followed by a dance show & dancefloor mayhem... to get an idea, check out these old pics at another fingered. here are more at a show with a dance class for the audience at the end, and more at full frontal disco. to get in make sure to rsvp no later than friday afternoon.

as for saturday night, it's that time of the month @ el cid:
