my 2 big bosses from New York City checked in at the Chateau Marmont in the heart of West Hollywood's Sunset Strip. the Chateau is sooo overrated, but you have to stay there at least once. their fries are really good, i'll give them that... i saw Pink and Matt Dillon, separately. they looked better than in the magazines or on TV. Pink didn't look butch at all; Matt Dillon was actually still kinda sexy...
here's Drazen from Q DEPARTMENT:here's Jacqueline from IDEALOGUE:
on Valentine's Day we brought Cold Stone Ice Cream to our comrades of Chiat & Media Arts Lab:
that evening i swung by the Antebellum gallery in Hollywood for some S&M type show. the art was alright, and the crowd not so much my cup of tea. some butch black lesbian in leather from head to toe greeted me with a wip & a spanking... i did not enjoy it:
on the way out the dyke asked me if i wanted my ass wooped for the road. i declined, somewhat horrified but grateful she gave me a choice... i met up with friends at Lust 4 Lace. of course i was the only one on time... i enjoyed checking out the crowd walking in:

my friend Charong was showing a video installation:
here's Charong with her husband Alexander:
Charong hails from Miami... Christy (also from Miami) & Vanessa (from NYC) of CP+B, with Mara of Chiat:
Vanessa has mad style; together we're super stylistical:
Paz, another friend from Miami, with Denise:
we went outside to get some air. the super tall guy with the super deep voice who almost won "Project Runway" a few seasons ago was there. i didn't think a man taller than Drazen existed till i saw him... here i look taller than Drazen for a change:
Drazen & Mara are both Slaves; i can't remember what mixes they are but it involves Serbia, Bosnia, Croatia. oh wait, i meant Slavic! anyhew, 15 years ago they were killing each other left & right. i'm glad these 2 are alive & well:
oh look, the twins are popping out again:
before midnight we went to 86 around the corner... the toilet at 86 doesnt' have video installations but served its purpose just the same:
86 reminds me a bit of Beatrice in NYC, except it's a lot more spacious & definitely more Hollywood... after 86 we headed over to Mia's (or M Bar), this japanese piano lounge bar that usually serves drinks way past 2AM. the owner, Mikki, used to be a cabaret singer in Tokyo till the 70s, then moved out here & opened her little gem of a lounge. you have to call ahead of time to get in. Mikki greated us with her usual enthusiasm & offered us food from her Valentine's buffet. we also each got heart shaped boxes with chocolates in them. here are some pix from 86 & Mia's:
waking up the next morning was pretty rough. we canceled a breakfast screening & headed west to the beach around lunch:
we met up at Axe in Venice & swung by Spot Welders:
we walked down Abbott Kinney where i noticed this yard:
at Psyop's new LA space - shared with Mass Market - further down Abbott Kinney, we were introduced to the fish: Jean-Marc, Jean-Christophe, Jean-Luc, Jean-Phillip, etc... i really coudln't tell them apart & they moved too fast for me to snap a clear pic of them:
Christy from Mass Market & Neysa from Psyop:
Cedric from Mass Market showing off his mad skills:
we ended with a quick visit at Deutsch:
in their lobby, i tried on the vehicle-suit-thing used by Ripley in the Aliens movie. i really felt like i could kick some major alien ass:
