yesterday, i kept on taking pictures as i walked away from my humble abode to Trader Joe's & Gelson's market over the hill, something i do almost every evening to Chicho's delight. i don't stock up so when i stay in for dinner, i decide then what i want & head over the hill for the necessary groceries... if you know Silverlake only for its bars, clubs, restaurants, shops... then check out some of the sights & landscapes i walk through almost every evening as the sun sets...
neighbors up Hamilton Way:

from where she stands you can see the Hollywood sign:
this Corvette should be mine:
lots of vintage cars in this area...
house on Murray Drive:
Elvira, who also used to live at 1205 Westerly Terrace, moved into her own pad on Murray Drive; i bump into her every once in a while. this is the view from her street:
more vintage cars...
Murray Circle:
i like living close to downtown, viewed from Berkeley Avenue:

just before Effie, Berkeley Avenue becomes Redcliff Street:
this house on Redcliff always brings me back to Acapulco:
this one brings me back to the Alpes, without the snow:
this view from the "chalet" brings me back to Caracas:
at the top of Redcliff, you can see the Silverlake reservoir down the hill & have this view of the Pasadena city lights in the background, over the hills of Eagle Rock & Mount Washington... this is where Redcliff joins Micheltorrena Street, at the very top of the hill...
to the Southeast you can see downtown:

to the North you can see the Glendale city lights:
to the West you can see Los Feliz & Hollywood:
like a piece of Miami's Coconut Grove nestled in Silverlake:
i love this pad:
sometimes i wish my house had an elevator as well:
cool cars parked on Micheltorena:
beyond Hollywood, the west side only looks good from afar:
more houses:
Trader Joe's, Gelson's, Video Journeys, Say Cheese, the pet store, the Hyperion Tavern and a bunch of restaurants await at the bottom of this hill, which is the site of the original Disney studios, and where Greta Garbo's weekend retreat still stands (now a nursery)... it's cozier than Sunset Junction's tragic hipster central... anyhew:
i caught a ghetto bird flying above:
there's something really reassuring to me about helicopters, makes me feel like shit is being taken care of, i luv'em!
