i love Sia

this was on the Jimmy Kimmel show this past January... my brother Eric Alexandre took pix of her (scroll to bottom of link) last year in Washington DC; it was her last stateside performance before touring in the UK... i first fell in love with her voice on the debut album of Zero 7. woaaaah, time flies. it seems like soooo long ago now. Zero 7 was to me like listening to Air except it had more soul to it: SIA... around the time "Breathe Me" became a big hit, Sara (a close friend since my USC film school days), then still producing music videos for the likes of Roman Coppola, Mike Mills, Shynola & others at The Directors Bureau, introduced us. Sia was living in Silverlake at the time, close to my pad. we share the same love for dogs & long walks. so Chicho & i took Sia along for a ride to Malibu in the Bavaria. i barely knew her & i'm glad she tagged along for the ride. no matter what music was playing in the car, she'd sing over it, if not with it. we took a long sunset stroll on my favorite beach and froze this moment in time:
